How to play it

Tips from El Rio's course tour, in our words.

Hole 2 · par 4
A demanding dogleg right over trees, with a big bunker on the left and a long approach.
Hole 4 · par 5
The longest hole, guarded by bunkers and desert scrub.
Hole 5 · par 3
Plays very differently depending on the wind. Miss the green and a good chip can still save par.
Hole 8 · par 4
The first water: bunkers left of the green, water right and behind.
Hole 9 · par 4
Tee shot over water, with water all along the right of the fairway.
Hole 13 · par 4
A long par 4 that can play like a par 5 into the wind; one bunker guards the green.
Hole 16 · par 3
A long par 3 to a rolling green, with trouble to the right.
Hole 17 · par 5
A par 5 with a big waste bunker and a lake all down the left.
Hole 18 · par 4
A long closing par 4: bunkered fairway and water left of the green.
