How to play it
Tips from CasaBlanca's hole-by-hole tour, in our words.
- Hole 1 · par 4
- An easy start: a straight, slightly downhill fairway to a wide-open green. Driver or 3-wood sets it up.
- Hole 2 · par 5
- A dogleg right that needs an accurate tee shot. Going for it in two brings the pond right of the green into play; if you lay up, stay out of the beach bunker on the right.
- Hole 3 · par 4
- Risk-reward: long hitters can go at the green past the water; the safe play is an iron for position. Heavily bunkered, rolling green.
- Hole 4 · par 3
- A par 3 with the Virgin River and wetlands left of the green. Bail out short right.
- Hole 5 · par 4
- The number-one handicap hole: water runs the whole left side of this long par 4. Hit it straight.
- Hole 7 · par 4
- Lateral hazard left, hidden bunkers right, and water down the right side that wraps behind the green.
- Hole 8 · par 3
- A par 3 with a waterfall lake and bunkers on the right of a big, sloping green.
- Hole 9 · par 4
- Aim at the CasaBlanca sign off the tee; water guards the right. The uphill second has hidden bunkers on both sides of the green.
- Hole 13 · par 4
- A short, risk-reward par 4: carry the desert and the bunkers, or try to drive the two-level green.
- Hole 16 · par 3
- The shortest hole, with a forced carry over a pond and stream and bunkers left of and behind the green.
- Hole 17 · par 4
- The course calls it the hardest hole: wasteland down the right off the tee, then crossing to the left for the second. Bunkers on both sides and behind the green.
- Hole 18 · par 4
- Bunkers right and out-of-bounds left off the tee; the green is ringed by bunkers left, right and back.
