How to play it

Tips from Siena's hole-by-hole page (yardages from the Gold tees), in our words.

Hole 1 · par 4
A well-placed drive to the right side opens up the green. Stay away from the greenside bunker.
Hole 2 · par 4
Lake Siena runs down the left. Hitting this well-bunkered green in regulation is the key to par.
Hole 3 · par 5
Big hitters can reach in two. Drive between the deep bunkers on each side; the green is large, so watch the pin to avoid three-putting.
Hole 4 · par 4
Long and uphill with no fairway bunkers, so you can swing hard. Take extra club into the uphill green and be careful with a back-left pin.
Hole 5 · par 3
Water on three sides, so accuracy off the tee matters. The green has a lot of movement.
Hole 6 · par 4
Uphill and usually into the wind. Bunkers hug both sides of the fairway.
Hole 7 · par 3
Pick the right club: a long green with mounds, bunkers in front and behind.
Hole 8 · par 5
Bunkers on both sides of the fairway. Land your second between the bunkers near the green and take extra club to the uphill green.
Hole 9 · par 4
Water down the left all the way to the green; deep bunkers guard the safe right side.
Hole 10 · par 4
Par is a good score. A dip between the landing area and the green makes the second shot hard to judge; miss to the big bail-out area right.
Hole 11 · par 4
Bunkers everywhere. A steep slope in front of the green catches mishits and leaves a tough chip.
Hole 12 · par 5
Reachable in two. Drive down the right to avoid water on the left; layups should watch the bunkers short of the green.
Hole 13 · par 4
Favors a draw. Avoid the left fairway bunker, which is reachable from every tee.
Hole 14 · par 3
Long, uphill par 3: take an extra club and play a fade to the left side; right finds a deep bunker.
Hole 15 · par 5
Drive left of the middle fairway bunker, away from the water. Bunkers and grass hollows guard the way in.
Hole 16 · par 4
The shortest par 4, with deep bunkers both sides and a three-tier green.
Hole 17 · par 3
The shortest par 3, but elevation changes the yardage and the green is big and rolling.
Hole 18 · par 4
Stay away from the bunkered right side. The left side gives the best angle; a narrow lake borders the green on the right.
