Carts and walking

Golf carts

Public green fees include one seat on a shared cart; you'll be paired up. A cart seat for a non-player, or riding alone, is $20. Two people per cart, keep to the paved paths as much as possible, and drivers need to be 18 with a driver's license. Source

Driving range

One of the biggest ranges in Henderson: mats, five target greens on mounds, and 370 yards to the last target. Bring your own tee. Source

Range balls

Small $6, medium $8, large $10, extra large $12. 10-bucket punch cards $48 to $95. Source

Short game

A short-game area with targets from 75 yards in, and a 9,500-square-foot putting green. Source

Course rules

Dress code

Collared, mock or turtleneck shirts; slacks or proper-length shorts. Clean denim is OK (no rips). No T-shirts, tank tops, gym clothes, swimwear, cowboy boots or metal spikes. Applies to non-players too. Source

Outside food and drink

No personal coolers and no outside alcohol (Nevada law). Carts have coolers with ice for drinks bought at the Willows Restaurant. Source

Good to know

• An executive course: par 60 with 12 par 3s and 6 par 4s. Source
• Pace: about 10 minutes a hole, 3 hours for 18 and 90 minutes for 9. Source
• Firm 12-hour cancellation policy; no-shows can be charged. Source
• No children under 5 anywhere on the golf areas. Source
• Late-day rounds stop at the posted closing time, before sunset, no matter how many holes you've played. Source
• Heat: hours and tee times can change on very hot days. Source
• Youth on Course players: tee times after 2:30 PM. Source

Desert Willow Junior Golf Academy

Year-round program for ages 6 to 17 run by Pam Bowers (with Dale Bowers), six achievement levels with bag tags and certificates, plus Tuesday and Thursday afternoon Play Days. Pam: 702-232-2467. Source

Youth on Course (junior program)

Youth on Course players get junior rates ($10 for 9, $15 for 18, walking) with tee times after 2:30 PM. Source
